MULTI ENGINE RATING – DIAMOND DA 42 TWINSTAR

In order to be a pilot on aircraft with more than one engine you will need to do a Multi-Engine Rating.

This can be accomplished on our Diamond DA 42 Twinstar which is a modern, latest technology G1000 instrument equipped trainer. This aircraft is also available for instrument ratings, renewals and ATPL test preparation.

Our course is structured in a series of modules to allow the most efficient, cost effective training available. The course progresses as follows:

Multi Engine Class rating
4 hour briefing
Glass Cockpit familiarisation
Takes approximately 2 days on an interactive computer program
DA42 technical knowledge
DA42 differences
3 hour briefing
Modern aeroplane construction and systems
2 hour briefing
Fly the DA42 by visual reference
ME Class rating DA42 differences
6 (reduced to 3 when simulator training is credited to ME rating)
Managing emergencies (flight simulator training)
ME Class rating
2 (increased to 3 when simulator training is credited to ME rating)

 


Notes :

  • Each module has defined learning outcomes
  • The module may consist of multiple lessons. Lesson plans will be compiled for each lesson
  • Students already competent in the outcomes of a module do not have to undergo the training
  • Competence in the outcomes of each module is assessed by your instructor.
